Purpose

To promote sustainable water management practices and reduce water waste by implementing a water reuse system within the university campus.

Scope

This policy applies to all departments, faculties, staff, students, and visitors within GITAM Deemed to be University.

- Water Reuse: The use of treated wastewater for non-potable purposes.
- Greywater: Wastewater generated from sinks, showers, and washing machines.
- Blackwater: Wastewater generated from toilets and kitchens.

Policy Statement

GITAM Deemed to be University commits to Implementing a water reuse system to treat and reuse greywater and blackwater. Installing rainwater harvesting systems to collect and store rainwater for non-potable uses. Promoting water-efficient fixtures and appliances in all buildings. Conducting regular water audits to monitor consumption and identify areas for improvement. Educating students, staff, and faculty on water conservation and reuse practices.
